In 2017 Grolsch renewed its sponsorship of the Toronto International Film Festival, the biggest in the world after Cannes and Venice. To mark this association, a branded icon was requested. The brief was to find a way of celebrating Grolsch, it’s sponsorship of the festival and at the same time, promote all the ways you can buy a Grolsch, not just the iconic swing top.
Initially I must admit that it seemed like a tall order. After some thought however, this simple visual treatment incorporating the regular can, crown top bottle and swing top solved the problem.
The film works icon will feature heavily during the festival in September 2017, and hopefully many more festivals to come in the future.
