Jopen is The Netherlands largest and most awarded Craft Beer Brand. If you google ‘How many beer brands are there in the world?’ you get the answers ‘19,000 brewing companies’ and ‘300,000 beers’ without even stretching your mouse (jan 2021). That’s a load of beers. It means there’s a load of competition. So what makes us special? And how can we convince a disinterested world that Jopen has a craft beer with their name on it? Our thinking goes like this: Beer is good (But not all beers are equal – some are truly awful) Craft beer is better Dutch beer is known around the world as good beer The Dutch are known for being open Therefore: Open Dutch Craft Beer is a quadruple win. So we’re in a great place because... Jopen = Dutch Craft Beer And because many people around the world don't speak Dutch, we like to tell them that Jopen is Dutch for Open. It isn't, obviously. But it's memorable and makes the name easy to pronounce for non native Dutch speakers.
